Norm compliant documentation

Every manufacturer is obliged by the directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery Directive), which has been in force since 2010, to prepare technical documentation for their product. The structure and content of the documentation are subject to clear guidelines from the legislator.

The requirements for the technical documentation are often underestimated, although especially in the case of product liability, “norm compliant ” documentation is indispensable as proof of the entrepreneurial fulfilment of obligations. The consequences may include an EU-wide sales ban, expensive recall campaigns and, last but not least, criminal prosecution in the event of personal injury.

With the introduction of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, some requirements for technical documentation have also been amended.
