Follow-up time measurement

Follow-up time measurements are an important basis for the correct positioning of AOPDs!

Only an appropriate safety distance can ensure that the dangerous movements come to a standstill before a person can reach the point of operation. However, the follow-up time of the machine/plant can be considerably extended due to wear and tear on the components. The timely stopping of all dangerous movements and thus reliable protection by the installed AOPD is no longer guaranteed.

For this reason, the necessary follow-up time measurements are required by law before the first commissioning, after longer downtimes, after modifications and at regular intervals by a proper safety inspection.

Scope of services:

  • Norm compliant performance of 10 measurements per danger point without electrical intervention in the control system (incl. graphic evaluation of braking behavior).
  • Use of measuring sensors suitable for the respective machine/plant type: Rotary encoders for rotary movements (such as rotary indexing tables) and draw-wire encoders for linear movements (up to 20m possible on request, e.g. for robot movements).
  • Documented test results according to DIN ISO 9001.
  • Attachment of the inspection badge.
